ok, let's talk about Twitch!
If you don't know what that is, or if you think it's just a video game streaming app, you have been missing out friends! Since the pandemic began, Twitch has become one of the best outlets for DJs, producers, Labels and promoters to share their talents and wares with the world. There are many unique characteristics that drive engagement and helps artists to build their own community of global followers. The cooperation and comeraderie on display between legends of the scene and local heros alongside upstarts is really heartwarming and also fun to follow along with. Finally, Twitch allows streamers to earn money for their efforts. There are subscription options that open up new community facing features, there is also opportunity to tip artists from within the app, or using things like PayPal and Venmo. For many who have essentially been laid off since the Pandemic began, Twitch has turned into a full-time source of revenue in a time it's been neeced the most. I really encourage anyone who loves music and believes in supporting artists and creators to check Twitch out, find some streamers you like and give them a subscription.
